Graduate Education

The academy is the department chairman’s affiliation units for Department of Neurology, Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases, Department of Geriatrics and Department of Nuclear Medicine at Capital Medical University. Since 1978, it has undertaken the training of master's degree and doctor's degree for 40 years. The academy now has 22 doctor's degree training subjects, 34 master's degree training subjects, and 177 graduate's supervisors (including 73 doctoral supervisors and 104 master's supervisors). The faculty support is strong, and it has opened 14 graduate courses such as clinical medical imaging.

Since taking on the task of graduate education, the academy has enrolled more than 2,700 graduate students, more than 460 doctoral students and 1,200 master students. Those talents have contributed significantly to the development of national medical and health, science and technology and educational cause. At present, its education covers 4 disciplines including medicine, science, engineering and health management. The research fields of graduate students include clinical medicine, basic medicine, biology, pharmacy, public health and preventive medicine, integrated traditional and western medicine, stomatology, public management, biomedical engineering, nursing, etc. There are currently 760 graduate students in progress.

The academy has the excellent scientific research facilities, a large number of cutting-edge projects, sufficient scientific research funds, a strong practice base, abundant books and literature resources, the first-class team of supervisors and extensive international cooperation and exchanges, which provide strong support and guarantee for graduate students to carry out academic research, participate in project practice and exercise their innovation ability. From 2008 to 2014, it won the excellent doctoral dissertation prize of Capital Medical University for seven consecutive years. At present, 1 doctoral dissertation has been awarded "national excellent doctoral dissertation", 3 doctoral dissertations have been nominated for "national excellent doctoral dissertation", and 2 doctoral dissertations have been awarded "Beijing excellent doctoral dissertation". In 2012, the professional master degree training of the academy was fully in line with the standardized training of resident physicians. From 2015 to 2018, the rates of passing the standardized training examination for resident physicians in Beijing for professional master degree students trained by the academy are 97.9%, 90.9%, 96.4% and 96.9%, respectively, ranking in the forefront of municipal hospitals.
