Introduction of Educational Exchange Program between Capital Medical University and University of Texas Medical School at Houston
In 1985, Capital Medical University and University of Texas Medical School at Houston signed an agreement launching a medical educational exchange project, facilitating mutual visits by scholars and students to each other’s campus.
Since the project’s conception, Xuanwu Hospital of CMU has served as the training base for participating UTHMS students, established specific teaching plans, and invited experienced professors Dr. Jiarui Wang, Dr. Zongjun Dong and Dr. Enhai Han as lecturers for cardiology, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and chiropractic medicine.
Beginning In 2009, CMU arranged for Xuanwu Hospital to take on all clinical training tasks of UTHMS students and revised the program to last 4 weeks, covering 19 departments. Through the exchange, participants from both countries have further deepened their understanding of the other nation’s medical educational system, clinical technologies, as well as culture and history.
